Sharapova get revenge on her US Open with a three-set win at China open

Maria Sharapova took revenge on her US Open conqueror Anastasija Sevastova with an exciting three-set win at the China Open.
It was the first time she won the Grand Slam for the first time since the first 16-year-old Latvian seed beat her in New York in early September and regains her return from a 15-month doping suspension.
Sharapova, number 104 in the world, is a wild card in Beijing and produced a fierce performance in the 7-6 (7-3), 5-7, 7-6 (9-7) win that lasted more than three hours.
Sevastova broke the former Russian world No. 1 number one in the seventh game to take advantage of the early initiative, but immediately broke again and finally lost the opening set after a tiring tie-break.
Sharapova, 30, appeared to be facilitating the second round but suffered a few moves in his serve and saw his opponent level again in a single set.

But the fight did not last, as Sharapova remained strong to fight.
British No. 2 Heather Watson lost earlier in qualifying to America Nicole Gibbs 6-7 (3-7) 6-4 6-4.
Second seed Simona Halep outclassed American Alison Riske in three sets 6-3 3-6 6-2.
