Mourinho avoids FA punishment after Saturday action

Mourinho will take the touchline against Crystal Palace after the FA opted against his action on Saturday.

Jose Mourinho will not face any action of the Football Association after being sent to the pits during the 1-0 victory of Manchester United on Southampton.

The Man United boss was asked to leave the touchline by Craig Pawson during second-half injury time at St Mary's on Saturday, after fourth official Mike Jones pulled him back for encroaching on to the edge of the pitch.

Speaking after the match, Mourinho was no wiser about the referee's decision.

"I do not know [what happened]," he said. Craig told me to leave and leave.

The FA confirmed that, regardless of Mourinho's offense, he no longer guarantees punishment and will be free to take his place on the Old Trafford when United will host the Crystal Palace next weekend.

He is no stranger to the disciplinary controversies during his stay in England, former Chelsea coach received a one game suspension and a £ 50,000 fine last November for two separate incidents.

Mourinho was sent to the pits by Mark Clattenburg in a 0-0 draw at home with Burnley, had already been accused of misconduct regarding comments made to referee Anthony Taylor before United's trip to Anfield for face Liverpool.
