JAMB 2018/2019 Registration will Commence Before November Ending

The Joint Admission and Matriculation board, JAMB says they will commence the 2018/2019 UTME registration before the end of November 2017.
Is’haq Oloyede, the board’s registrar, revealed this to journalists on the sidelines of a one-day awareness-raising workshop for computer-based testing, CBT, center owners on Wednesday in Lagos.
In his opinion, the essence of the workshop is to assess the registration and conduct of the 2017 exam.
“What are we doing here today?”, And we have learned some lessons from our experience.
As well as the execution of the actual exam.
“For example, during the conduct of the last investigation, we discovered that some electronic devices, such as pens, watches and other devices, were used to make test errors.
“So, for the next year, we have banned the use of wristwatches and pencils from candidates and other people in the exam hall.
“We will introduce some of the centers,” he said.
Mr. Oloyede noted that UTME 2018 will begin before the end of November.
“We are making plan to meet with stakeholders on the 15 of November 2017, and the registration form will begin before the end of this month.
“But first we expect you to download our app, go to our website and download the syllabus and brochure so you can study the process now.
“This is in a process of minimizing the error that occurs during the registration process,” he said.
The Board has added 617 exercise centers nationwide.
“We are still considering more than 60 other centers as we have to wait for their applications to take an exam.
“However, a total of 72 centers across the country have been given early delisting status because of their involvement in some violations.
On the board’s plan to build CBT centers for his investigations, Mr. Oloyede said, “The mega center plan is still on, we said last year.
“But the planning process will take some time.
“There will be design, there will be contact with private operators, just as there will be advertising and such a due process,” he said.
Previously, Mr. Oloyede called for the support of CBT center owners to control anti-investigative activities.
“We thank you for your diligence during the 2017 exam and would like to take this opportunity to inform you about the moderation of the 2018 exercise.
“We want to make sure we make the best CBT centers at the upcoming test.
“You want to be culpable if you do not expose a CBT center that does evil because it wants to be condemned by all of us.
“It is under this premise that we see the bad eggs under you and they do not participate in our activities,” he said.
According to him, the surveillance begins from the time of arrival of the center owners in the workshop.
He added that the board will include some other requirements for CBT centers during the 2018 UTME exam.
“We will not accept any cbt centres without surveillance cameras, he added that any CBT Centre that the board cannot monitor from Abuja will not get paid.
CBT Center is entitled to sell any material under the guise of past issues.
“Also, we will not allow candidates to leave the center to use the toilet, CBT centers have their own comfort,” Oloyede said. Read more news on JAMB 2018/2019
