Grigor Dimitrov beats Juan Martin del Potro, Nick Kyrgios defeats Mischa Zverev in China

Grigor Dimitrov edged US Open semifinalist Juan Martin del Potro 7-6 (8-6) 7-5 to book his place in the quarterfinals of the China Open on Wednesday.
After a 5-2 second-set break in Beijing, Dimitrov produced some of his best tennis to shoot the next five games for his second consecutive win over the Argentine this year.

The Bulgarian, who prevailed when the pair met in the tough courts of Cincinnati in August, improved his head-to-head record against Del Potro to 2-5 and stayed on the hunt for a spot in the ATP Tour final Finals in London next month.
The third seed then plays the fifth seed Roberto Bautista Agut. Aljaz Bedene lost 10 straight games before retiring with a knee problem.

Elsewhere, Nick Kyrgios came from a set down to defeat Mischa Zverev 3-6 6-2 6-2. The Australian unleashed 11 aces in the match during an hour and 22 minutes.

"I knew it was going to be complicated, he plays a fairly old type of tennis ... he likes to come and play his tennis style and he has been very successful," Kyrgios said.
"I knew I had to find my feet and improve my first serve percentage in the second and third set ... just loosen up from the back to keep things on my terms.
Kyrgios's next game is Steve Darcis of Belgium, who beat Serbian Dusan Lajovic 6-3 6-4 in a rematch of their Davis Cup semifinal match that Kyrgios won in five sets.
Rafael Nadal will play tomorrow in his match of the round of 16 with Karen Khachanov.
